Leadership
President
Mr. Chen is Founder and President of Elmwood Capital, Inc. Prior to founding Elmwood Capital, he held an investment and asset management role at a nationally active real estate private equity firm with more than $3 billion in assets under management. His responsibilities included acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, contract negotiations, market research, and serving as an owner’s representative. During his tenure, he had cumulative direct oversight of more than 1.3 million square feet of real estate across a diversified portfolio spanning multifamily, single-family communities, industrial, mixed-use, and retail projects nationwide. The portfolio represented over $254 million in aggregate asset value.
Earlier in his career, he also held finance and operations roles at Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Chen is a licensed California real estate broker and holds a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
